Simple Apple Syrup
You can of course make this recipe with fresh apples or apple cider but I’m using what I have and that’s apple juice. To make this, I’m using the simple syrup method of equal parts sugar and liquid.
- 1 cup Apple Juice, I prefer not from concentrate but use what your family drinks.
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Pour juice and sugar into a sauce pan and heat on medium, stirring regularly until sugar is completely dissolved. Take off heat and allow to cool.
Sweet Tea
I could be a tea snob here and go on and on about how much better loose leaf tea from certain brands are but let’s be real. I’m going with bags of Rose Red tea. Use whatever tea you like, though I might side eye you a little if its Lipton, which I think tastes like soap.
- 6 tea bags, more or less depending on how strong you like your tea
- 1 quart of water
- half gallon jug or jar to store your tea in.
Boil your water then take off the heat and add the tea bags. Let steep 5 minutes.
Sweeten with syrup to taste
Pour into container and add ice to fill. Ice will melt and cool the tea down.
Serve on ice.
