5 Favorite Romance Movies to Watch This Fall

Posted on September 21, 2025September 28, 2025 by December

While most romantic fall movie lists will be full of blockbuster classics like You’ve Got Mail, Practical Magic, and Runaway Bride, these movies tend to have scenes from across the seasons and are not specifically fall showcases. I chose the following list because they are set specifically in the fall and have all the cozy autumnal vibes with their sweet romances.

Under the Autumn Moon (2018)

Determined to get an executive promotion, Alex is sent to Harmony Ranch to consider acquiring it for company retreats, boot camps, and moral boosting activities. Despite working at an outdoors products company, she’s more of a city girl with a love for coffee and business conquest.
Josh wants Harmony farm to stay like it always has been, like his late father wanted. However, keeping a ranch running in this economy isn’t easy and the bank is knocking. He now is stuck between letting the bank take the ranch or a ranching conglomerate come in and turn the place into pasture. When Alex makes an offer, he is determined to see her fall in love with the ranch and ensure its survival…but the ranch might not be the only thing winning her interest or heart.
The ranch setting not only makes for gorgeous scenery but cute moments like tossing hay at each other in the barn, goat feeding, bonfire coziness, and of course horse back riding while having soft conversations. While I normally associate ranch themes with summertime fun, this had all the autumnal vibes.

Harvest Moon (2015)

Legally Blonde on the farm. Jen has all the adorable moxy of Cher from Clueless as well as the background of being a spoiled Daddy’s princess. When her father goes bankrupt after some failed business decisions, all she has left is a pumpkin farm he bought in her name. When the farm turns out to be in so much debt she can’t see it for profit, she decides to do what she does best — give it a makeover.
Brett Jarret is a widower with a daughter and a failing farm. HIs grumpy attitude and zero desire to be pulled out of it make him more of a challenge for Jen than anything she’s faced before. Thankfully chemistry not only can warm hearts, but save the farm with a little help of some magical pumpkin cosmetics.
This one is so much fun and even includes some subtle Footloose references.

Autumn in the Vineyard (2016)

Frankie and Nate both have claim to the local vineyard. Unable to come to an agreement on how its run, they decide to split it down the middle and may the best wine win. Add in a second chance romance between high school sweethearts, this story definitely has depth. However, much like good wine, love blooms slowly and with a little pressure.
I’m a big fan of the small town vibes in this movie. The family rivalries with low stakes Romeo and Juliet, town gossip, and having connections with everyone — it just feels cozy.
While I don’t normally think of vineyards as fall aesthetic, this movie hits the spot. Harvest season is more than apples and pumpkins as this movie reminds us, and this time is perfect for some soft moments, fun dialogue, and cheers for when the characters overcome difficulties.

Falling for Look Lodge (2020)

(Also titled Love at Look Lodge.)
Lily just wants to be respected by her sister and take the next step towards her dream of running an outdoor activities business by becoming activities director of Lookout Lodge. When Noah makes her life harder by doing everything he can to avoid helping with his sister’s wedding, she has to give him a nudge or two to come out of his shell and stop hiding in his work.
Noah isn’t the only one who needs a few pointers in this movie. Lily gets a hand believing in herself and her dream even when it’s scary. There are also some plucky side characters that bring moments of giggles and romance.
The fall colors and scenic vistas in this movie are so gorgeous I can almost smell the crisp air and autumn leaves. One of the most beautiful movies on this list.

Autumn at Apple Hill (2024)

Elise wants to keep Inn at Apple Hill running just like her grandparents did, even if it means leaving everything else in her life behind (including her now ex-husband). When doing her best doesn’t look like enough, she decides to see the inn through its final October before giving up her dream.
Luke is a workaholic whose boss/mom forces him to take a vacation. He returns to his childhood home and his favorite place as a kid, Inn at Apple Hill. Unfortunately, time has taken an effect on the town — closing his beloved arcade, demolishing his old school, and the inn itself is falling apart.
When Elise and Luke clash, there’s enough sparks to start an autumn bonfire. Thankfully, a little communication and vulnerability are all it takes to turn that rage into the warmth of love.
The autumn vibes in this movie are perfect. We get apple picking, small town living, and it all builds up to an old fashioned Halloween party. Who could ask for more?

Whatever fall romance movies you decide to put on while enjoying your apple cider in the coziest of sweaters, enjoy this romantic autumn season.
